How I work

  • I offer to:

    Listen without judgement

    Try to understand your situation and what it means to you

    Use my experience, training and compassion to help you understand your feelings 

    You might not know what your feelings are yet.

    Help you understand what you’d like to do about issues affecting you 

    Be open to any ideas you have about your therapy process

    how you think it’s going 

    if you think it’s time to stop.

    Confidentiality

    Not share what we talk about with anyone - unless I feel there is a risk involved

    Flexibility

    Meet face to face initially, then we can discuss other ways to meet that might work for you.

  • How will this help?

    ‘get things off your chest’

    identify and understand your feelings

    develop ideas about what you’d like to do next

    I don’t offer:

    Simplistic advice

    To tell you what to do

    To know the answers (but I will sit with you and try to understand)

  • It helps if we can both:

    Open and curious

    about your feelings

    to new ideas

    To the idea of therapy (or try to say what you don’t like).
